I am a User Experience (UX) and User Interface (UI) specialist with professional experience as a UI/UX Designer, a UI/HUD Artist, and a UI Developer using Flash and Actionscript.

My career started in 2003 when I graduated from Simon Fraser University with a Major in Cognitive Science and a Certificate in Computing Science. A passion for the UX that people have while interacting UI's was born in my final year of university. This motivated me to spend the next few years mastering the Flash platform as a tool to create UI's and early in 2005 my career had started as a Flash web developer. In 2008 I landed my first job in the Video Gaming industry as a UI Designer/Developer and continued on to design, create and develop interfaces for a number of video game titles. I'm passionate about UX and designing and developing highly functional user interfaces.

  • As a designer, I focus on user experience and design interfaces that are highly usable. My goal is to make it as easy as possible for users to understand the interface and how to accomplish tasks and objectives related to each screen or flow of screens.

  • As an artist, I focus on creating interfaces that are visually appealing and match the mood and art style of the project that I'm focusing on. The goal is to make sure that the user can clearly understand all the data that is presented to them on the screen and has the best possible UX while using the interface.

  • As a developer, I take an object oriented approach where I focus on efficiency and writing clean code that can be re-used and scaled depending on design. My role as a developer has been to create the front-end user interface and also create animations and sparkle to enhance the UX.
